Custom Injection Molded PVC Funnels & Polypropylene Screens
Holding precision tolerances down to .005 of an inch, Bermar Associates, Inc. injection molded a large series of PVC funnels and polypropylene screens for the medical industry. When assembled, these items collect drainage from patients.
Employing our injection molding machines with a 100-ton clamping force and a 5 ounce shot size, we designed and built two, 2-cavity molds from P-20 steel. Clear PVC was the material of choice for the funnels and polypropylene for the screens. The completed project measured 4.625 inches long, 2.5 inches wide, 1.5 inches high and weighed 35 grams.
After manufacturing was complete, all components were placed on a cooling fixture. The funnels and screens were designed to be free of contamination. We successfully built these innovative medical devices to customer-supplied, ISO specifications. Bermar Associates provided just-in-time delivery of all completed units to our client’s facility in Michigan.
